About Frown

History

Established in 2018, Frown is owned and operated by 30 year career Web Designer and Front End Developer, Mike Salkeld, in Bolton, Greater Manchester.

Formerly the owner / operator of Luminance Design, a web development agency operational from 2003 - 2017, Mike returned after a brief period in full time employment [in web agencies and more recently FinTech fields], with a revised and reinforced incentive, focusing on responsive, usable and accessible sites for a wider scope of clients and industries.

Producing no-nonsense websites by hand coding and using collated function snippets previously created and API's or existing stable script libraries and frameworks, without resorting to the current trend of 'vibe coding' with AI.
